Workshops And Education

At Vehdance & Movement we bring creative contemporary dance into both primary and secondary schools across Derby. Our workshops blend movement, wellbeing, and self-expression, giving pupils the chance to grow in confidence, imagination, and teamwork.

Led by our Vehdance facilitaors, all sessions are inclusive, adaptable, and carefully designed to meet the needs of different age groups.

Primary (KS2)

Our younger students explore playful themes such as Candy Mountain, Cloud Castle, and Lava River. These imaginative worlds encourage coordination, balance, and collaboration while helping children express themselves through dance.

Secondary

Older students are challenged with creative choreography tasks, contemporary technique, and opportunities for leadership. Sessions focus on intention, focus, rhythm, and performance skills, supporting coursework as well as personal development.

After-School Clubs

We also run after-school creative dance clubs for both primary and secondary schools. These regular sessions give pupils the chance to explore movement more deeply, create their own dances, and share with their peers in a fun and supportive environment.

In-Curriculum Sessions

Workshops can be tailored to curriculum themes, PE or arts weeks, making dance a meaningful part of school life.
